Send Me Your ‘C’ And ‘D’ Students … And We’ll Change The World

SKent send me your C and D people

Don’t send me only those people you have unilaterally deemed to be your “smartest” employees. I believe most people are not qualified to make such an arrogant assessment.

Please send me the folks that, from your limited perspective and experience you have unilaterally – even disdainfully – labeled as your ‘slow learners.’ Send me your so-called ‘average’ employees. Send me your ‘C’ students. Send me your ‘D’ students. Send me the folks who do not want to get ‘promoted’ or whom you’ve determined are not ‘promotable.’

Send me the people who have to work twice as hard to measure up to the artificial standards set by judgmental policy worshipers and charmed dandies who are first in line only because they make certain anyone else is second.

Send me honest people. Send me sincere people. Send me people who tell the truth. Send me anyone who is committed to lifelong learning rather than those who merely want to check a box attesting they’ve been to or near training.

I will listen to how they want to learn and change and grow. I will ensure that they know they’re being heard, that they know their voices are important. I will adjust so I can help them set themselves on fire with a passion for leadership in public service.

Send me those people and we will fashion a rewarding future for your organization and your industry. – s
