Strategic Succession Continuity Planning Workshop
What happens to your organization when a key leader walks out the door?
Most organizations think about succession as finding the next person to fill a position. But replacing a person is only part of the problem. What happens to the knowledge, relationships, decisions, responsibilities, and essential services that person leaves behind?
The Strategic Succession Continuity Planning Workshop takes your leadership team beyond traditional succession planning and into the practical question of organizational continuity. Together, we will identify the positions and capabilities most critical to your organization, examine where the greatest continuity risks exist, and develop practical strategies for maintaining operations when key people leave—whether the departure is planned or unexpected.
This is a working session, not a lecture. Your command team will examine real organizational vulnerabilities, consider the potential service gap created by a key departure, identify interim coverage and knowledge-transfer needs, and begin building a practical continuity plan that can be put to work immediately.
The goal is simple: your organization should not lose its capability simply because a key person leaves.
The workshop is designed for command teams, executive teams, department heads, and other organizational leaders who have a responsibility to ensure that the organization keeps moving forward—regardless of who is sitting in a particular chair.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is designed for the people responsible for keeping the organization moving—especially command teams, executive teams, department heads, and other leaders who have responsibility for organizational performance and continuity. It is particularly valuable when an organization depends heavily on the knowledge, relationships, judgment, or leadership of a relatively small number of people.
Work Products
Participants will leave the workshop with more than ideas. Working from the Leadership Continuity Assessment, your team will identify its most significant continuity vulnerabilities and begin developing a practical Strategic Succession Continuity Plan. The work will focus on critical positions, potential service gaps, knowledge and relationship risks, interim coverage, successor readiness, and the actions needed to strengthen continuity. Your team will also establish priorities for moving the work forward after the workshop.
Schedule Your Workshop
Scheduling is simple. Once your organization is ready to move forward, you can self-schedule an initial strategy meeting with Steve using the scheduling link in the graphic provided below. The initial meeting provides an opportunity to discuss your organization, the assessment results, and how the workshop can best be structured for your team.
